The Production of Burnished!
Many of you may not know, but on April 23rd a group of media and drama studnets from City if Bath College, went on a long trip to the moorlands of Dartmoor to create two short films, within two groups; The G man Project, a horror, and Burnished, a teen drama.
Our group worked on the production of Burnished, a teen drama about a small group of friends that take a trip to Dartmoor. The couple in the group, Chole and Natan, are having problems in their relationship, with them argueing constanly, as well as Natan’s secret love for Rachel, another girl in the group. The trip goes from bad to worse, as Chole finds out about Natan and Rachels love for each other, which ends in disaster.
Planning for the film took months of preperation; paperwork, permission slips, and of course the Director writing up the final script. Once we had a small budget (thanks to one of the teachers and Daisie’s Mum!) we just about managed to afford food, transport and other essensuals so that the production was on its way!
Before we left for Dartmoor, we all had the choice of choosing a role which we would fullfill in on the trip, such as, cinemotographer. Everyone had a first and second choice, mine was production assistant, second choice, sound. I ended up doing the roles sound for bunished, behind the scenes, and entertainment with Daisie and Sophie :) In our team, Katy was director, Larry as producer & location manager, Adam as cinemotographer & editor, Daisie as production assistant, me as sound and max as lighting.
Overall I think we worked well in a team, there were disagrements and problems but we managed to solve them together, and make a sucessful film in the end :)
Yay for Dartmoor!
